About Eta Lambda Sigma
Eta Lambda Sigma is the nation’s first professional fraternity in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Eta Lambda Sigma's first semester as a professional fraternity was established in the fall of 2006. As we continue to grow, we look to increase our involvement in the community and be a leader in the field of homeland security and emergency preparedness. The fraternity actively works with various agencies to conduct training for our members as well as support local and statewide training efforts of current professionals.
About VCU Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness Program
Virginia Commonwealth University is the nation’s first major research university to offer a Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. The program was launched in the fall of 2005 and has grown at an extraordinary rate since then. Courses cover topics including terrorism, the intelligence community and intelligence process, emergency management, strategic planning for homeland security, legal and constitutional issues in homeland security, and other courses directed at creating an academic foundation in addition to honing problem-solving skills related to the protecting the homeland from disasters, natural or manmade.
